in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), based in

Houston or Midland, TX.Primary PurposeThe Automation Systems Developer will manage the existing Cygnet System and the team supporting Capital and Maintenance Projects. Candidate shall be responsible for improving the Operational Effectiveness and Efficiency of the existing system by providing solutions that enable operators to be proactive rather than reactive by implementing a high-performance HMI, increase remote operability by implementing role-based security profiles and leveraging the PLC and Local Operator Interface's (LOI) capabilities, such as PlantPax to simplify the movement of Operators between assets by standardizing the SCADA system design used for the OxyOnshore Assets.Candidate will be responsible for improving the performance of existing Production Roll-ups to provide an accurate Production Report to the Operations and Accounting Systems. This role collaborates with the Remote Operations Center, the Facilities engineering groups, and other divisions to facilitate safe and efficient monitoring and control of field operations.Roles and ResponsibilitiesReduce downtime by reducing troubleshooting time. Streamline how operators locate equipment alarms, enabling them to trend related data points.Reduce downtime by reducing reaction times to alarms by deploying Field Mobility.Increase compliance with corporate policies and reduce downtime by creating First Out Reports that help Operations understand what triggered emergency shutdowns.Improve the Effectiveness & Efficiency of the Cygnet System byStandardizing the SCADA system design used to monitor Oxy Onshore assets.Reducing time to market and cost of configuring new assets in the different automation applications by using a standardized, templatized instantiation process and configuring multiple modules based on a single input.Innovating Processes to replicate Data to reduce the Cost to build a new facility in the Cygnet environment.Analyzing and optimizing the existing SCADA screens to remove bottlenecks and ensure the reliability and Operability of the overall system.Reducing troubleshooting time for PLC programmers by simplifying the search for data in the HMI.Provide CygNet development and support using tools such as database configuration utilities, graphics editor and other administration tools.Provide extensive hands-on SCADA application experience such as Iconics, and OPC Server configuration/support.Ensure that appropriate design specifications and standards are being used in the design process.Ensure project design is consistent with the client's integrity management standard use of Guidance on Certification and industry standards.Provide safe, operable, and efficient equipment designs aligned with HSE and OPS standards, policies, and procedures.Perform break-fix and troubleshooting support of CygNet and its related infrastructure including business interfaces, remote devices, HMI network and hardware platforms.Assist with the development of operation procedures and training and coordinate work efforts with the Technical Authority.Work closely with Operations, Measurement and Engineering to ensure the SCADA System is being developed to established standards.Coordinate between asset teams, field automation, facility engineers, production engineers, accounting & function leadership to ensure SCADA designs support operational needs/issues and accounting workflow.Qualifications:Minimum of 5 years of administrative experience with CygNet SCADA system.Experience with CygNet Measurement, data collection from RTUs, and troubleshooting.Experience with OPC Servers (TopServer).Articulate competency of SCADA administration and troubleshooting experience with examples.Knowledge of Oil & Gas production process.Knowledge of relational databases (SQL, Oracle).Knowledge of MS Excel and Outlook.Experience with XML, VBScript, VBA, SQL.In-depth understanding of automation systems. Basic understanding of electrical systems.Ability to understand and troubleshoot PLC logic, based on the Rockwell Automation Logix5K platform. Exposure to digital and analog I/O, programming, and troubleshooting.Ability to understand in detail Facility Technical Information, such as P&IDs, C&E matrix, Instrument Index, Control Philosophy, and Operational Philosophy.Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for instrumentation and control systems, such as ISA, API, IEC, etc.Actively lead projects where necessary & directly oversee the work of contractors when external resources are needed for automation support/project work.At least five years of experience in oil and gas industry, preferably in upstream operations.In-depth knowledge of production processes and equipment, including Facilities and Wells.Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong Leadership and Mentoring skills.Ability to work on multiple projects and meet delivery deadlines.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with management, technical, and field personnel.
