This position will be located in the Colorado Springs, CO, area.Position Overview:This position is for the Model-Based Systems Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) System. The selected applicant will consume use cases and systems engineering artifacts, including the definition of Epics and Features, to implement customer-requested capabilities. The applicant will support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, and system engineering estimates and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews.The position will also support junior systems engineering team members in enhancing their skills in the department. Work will be performed under the direction of various technical leads and product owners and require interfacing with team members, C2BMC management, and government customers to ensure high-quality products are generated on time and within the resources available.Essential Functions:Adhering to DOORS processes and proceduresReviewing the content and details of technical productsActing as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts as required.Be actively involved in the efforts associated with Agile development, including iteration planning and status.Experience with complex command and control systems, mission analysis, performance analysis, requirements solicitation, decomposition, and management, and modeling applications for testing and verification.Experience developing key diagram types to create logical and physical models that depict static and dynamic behavior, performance, element interactions, internal and external interfaces, states, and modes.Experienced user of the DOORS tool.Requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower-level subsystems and components.Maintaining system and component baselines in a requirement management system; defining the relationships between internal and external components; and communicating system-level use cases and associated Epics and Feature relationships to a diverse group of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users.Skills generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of the desired capabilities.Specific roles in a program to use case development, requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition through a structured and logical approach.Demonstrated ability to analyze high-level needs utilizing use cases/scenarios and relate them to the requirements.Ability to communicate effectively and present technical approaches and findings.Demonstrated ability to implement engineering plans within a project.Basic Qualifications:An active Secret clearance is required to start.14 years with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 18 years experience in lieu of a degree or 12 years with a Master's degree.Must have the ability to be flexible to support various tasks on short notice.Demonstrated experience in developing models to drive solutions in complex systems is required, with specific demonstrated expertise in DoDAF and SysML methodology.Must be able to work on an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical baselines necessary to describe the desired capabilities of an evolving BMDS Command & Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) System.Some travel is required.Preferred Qualifications:Experience transitioning a mature and evolving project into MBSE is highly desired.Experience with Cameo (or Magic Draw), Enterprise Architect, and Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements (DOORs) to manage multiple product baselines is preferred.Experience with Agile Methods and Epic and Feature definition is a plus.Skills in logical architecture modeling and/or interface definition and knowledge of cyber security concepts and security accreditation are highly desirable.Experience with cybersecurity, the Risk Management Framework (RMF), and network design are also desired.What We Can Offer You:Northrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment that encourages your growth and supports the mutual success of our people and our company.
