You will be managing a team of engineers that will consist of individual contributors and other managers supporting the Specialized Warfighter Development Contract (SWDC) Modeling and Simulation Software (MSS) Task Order for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). As a manager you will be spending upwards of 20% of normal work week provided coaching, mentorship, administrative direction, and support for a team of engineers. Specifically, you will be:
Managing a team of 8-10 direct reports (managers, and individual contributors)
Supporting the SWDC program through staffing, recruiting and managing attrition
Managing your team and sub-teams through performance management such as performance review, and compensation analysis.
Supporting the career development of your direct reports.
Interacting with SWDC program leadership on technical matters, resource planning and providing guidance through engineering execution.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 9 years of related experience; or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 7 years of experience; or PhD with a minimum of 5 years of experience
Prior technical leadership (SW lead, test lead, product owner, scrum master, etc.)
Experience making hiring decisions
Experience conducting disciplinary actions
Experience in an engineering domain to include Systems, Software, Modeling and Simulation, and AI/Machine Learning
Must already possess at least an active DoD Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Domain experience in Missile Defense, Radars, Space Systems
Active DoD Top Secret clearance
Familiarity with Systems or Software Engineering processes and products
Outstanding Communication skills, both verbally and written

Salary Range:
$138,100 - $207,100
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
