Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Systems Administrator – CCC Systems Maintenance (Engineering) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives.
Successful candidates must be able to technically diagnose, mitigate/troubleshoot issues, and contribute to an on-site team providing 24/7 support to the C2BMC application suites, which are globally dispersed in different time zones.
Essential Functions:
Participate in system/networking troubleshooting, problem resolution, and maintenance activities, including on-site and telephonic maintenance support.
Be a self-starting problem-solver capable of working with limited supervision and supporting troubleshooting to resolution.
Will support the trouble ticket processes and procedures.
The position is normally Monday through Friday. It will require on-call support, and evening and weekend support may be required during system anomalies and/or tests.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years of experience, or 9 years of experience in lieu of the degree.
Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA).
Must have experience in server system administration and troubleshooting analysis on some or all of the following platforms - Linux, Windows servers, and Windows clients.
Must be knowledgeable in Windows and Redhat system administration, software installation, and patch management.
Must have experience with VMware products, ESXi, vCenter, virtual machines, and clustering.
Experience with Juniper network devices or basic networking skills.
Solid troubleshooting, log analysis, and problem-solving techniques.
Familiar with imaging software, creating/installing ISO, and staging software for installation across the network.
Ability and willingness to travel 10% to support business needs.
Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI clearance is highly desired.
Previous experience and knowledge of C2BMC Systems or Missile Defense.
Scripting on Linux, UNIX, or Windows servers and Windows Workstations.
Salary Range:
$88,600 - $133,000
