Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal Systems Administrator – Infrastructure Automation/Maintenance System Administrator (24-302) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight.

The candidate will work on the Global Infrastructure team and will assist in maintaining and sustaining a hyper-converged infrastructure. They will work primarily with multiple operating systems and specific developmental toolsets.

Essential Functions:

Experience with projects that plan and schedule multiple groups in building out the construction of labs and equipment to include rack, space, and power.

Experience adding engineering rigor to the process for the Network Engineers, System Admins, and cyber in support of projects and milestones.

Experience working with CM to ensure all processes are met and captured.

Understand System Administration roles in a customer prem cloud environment.

Understanding of Network Engineering roles in supporting cloud-based solutions/implementations.

Previous experience working in Agile Software Development organizations using the SAFe framework.

Basic Qualifications:

An active TS/SCI clearance within the last 5 years is required to start.

6 years' experience with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; 4 years' experience with a master’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; or 10 years' experience in lieu of a degree.

Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA).

Must have experience hosting and sustaining the hyper-converged infrastructure and familiarity with the following tools/technologies:

3+ years of building project plans, organizing groups to manage personnel resources, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to support the software development lifecycle.

Linux experience using RHEL administration, including networking and protocols.

Must have experience with Terraform, Ansible, and shell scripting tools.

Must have experience automating the buildout of VMs using Nutanix and VMWare.

1+ container orchestration using Kubernetes (or a similar tool) to support databases, SW development tools like GitLab and Nexus, and mission software.

Current Linux certification to fulfill DoD computing environment requirements.

Salary Range:

$88,600 - $133,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
