ExemptJob Summary/Basic FunctionWeber State University invites nominations and applications for the next dean of the College of Engineering, Applied Science and Technology (EAST). The dean is the chief academic and executive officer of the college and reports to the provost. The college is looking for a visionary leader with a record of excellence who will guide and grow the college.Institutional OverviewWeber State inspires impassioned commitment from its faculty, staff, students, and alumni. The college engages in scholarly activities that expand the technological education our students receive and provide a service to business and industry.Brief Job DescriptionThe Dean of the College of Engineering, Applied Science and Technology will serve as an academic leader within a university environment that fosters collaboration and shared governance. The Dean will lead enrollment and reaffirmation of accreditation efforts, work collaboratively with the Office of Academic Affairs, and support fundraising efforts.Required QualificationsEarned doctorate with experience and a record commensurate with a tenured faculty member.Evidence of excellent teaching and willingness to promote high-impact experiential education.Evidence of effective community engagement and fundraising.Demonstrated leadership and experience in administration.Preferred QualificationsTenured associate or full professor.Three or more years of academic administration experience.Experience managing funds and ensuring rigorous accounting practices across departments.Experience in fostering collaborative relationships between the university and regional organizations.Background Check:
