Job Title – Network Engineer, Junior - Cloud
Job Summary - The Network Engineer, Junior Cloud is responsible for developing and deploying network systems and cloud architecture solutions that meet organizational requirements for performance, security, and compliance. This entry-level position involves supporting the design and implementation of cloud services, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and standards. The Network Engineer I will conduct feasibility studies, monitor and maintain network systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide solutions in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement network designs that align with organizational requirements for cloud services.
Conduct network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies.
Assist in defining technical requirements for cloud service offerings and ensure alignment with NIH and government objectives.
Collaborate with federal staff to provide strategic guidance and documentation for cloud architecture, data management, and integration support.
Troubleshoot network issues, develop solutions, and maintain documentation for processes and procedures.
Stay informed of the latest technologies in networking hardware, software, and best practices.
Support the development and implementation of automated self-service portals and cloud modules.
Participate in assessments of cloud technologies, applications, and infrastructure to provide targeted recommendations.
Collaborate on strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives related to cloud services.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
0-2 years of related experience in network engineering or cloud services.
Familiarity with cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their networking capabilities is preferred.
Basic understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and cloud security practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Vendor-specific certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, Cisco) are a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The projected compensation range for this position is $76,000 to $95,300 per year benchmarked in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The target salary is $83,300. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
