Position Overview:

Legacy Grill, the new restaurant at Legacy Golf Course at the 19 in Mason City, is seeking an experienced Lead Server to lead our service team. This exciting dining destination is designed to offer exceptional culinary experiences for golfers and guests alike. As a Lead Chef, you will play a vital role in creating an enjoyable dining experience for our guests while managing front-of-house operations. You will be responsible for taking and delivering food and drink orders, fostering guest relationships, and promoting a clean and safe environment.

Starting Pay:

$10 per hour plus tips

Key Responsibilities:

Build and maintain positive relationships with high-profile customers, ensuring an exceptional dining experience.

Present restaurant menus to guests, guide them through food and beverage selections, and answer any questions while making recommendations for complementary products.

Input all orders into the POS system accurately and ensure timely service, ensuring that all dishes are served correctly.

Issue bills, accept payments, and provide accurate change to guests.

Inform and train staff on new specials and items to keep everyone updated.

Schedule other servers effectively to ensure proper coverage during service periods.

Delegate and enforce proper and timely floor set-up and close-out duties, ensuring a smooth operation.

Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant during service.

Demonstrate a complete understanding of all menu items, ingredients, and specials to assist guests effectively.

Promptly address and resolve any guest complaints or issues in a service-oriented manner, escalating to the Manager as needed.

Instruct staff on work expectations for event functions within their areas of responsibility.

Keep up-to-date on daily inventory and organization of products using inventory and par sheets.

Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure the restaurant operates smoothly.

Key Qualifications:

Previous serving experience is required.

Clear understanding of the English language (verbal and written).

Availability on weekends is required, as well as on holiday when the restaurant is open.

Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift.

Ability to work in hot, humid, and potentially fast-paced conditions.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and train a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle guest complaints with professionalism and service-oriented attitude.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
