IronMountain Solutions is seeking a
Systems Engineer
to support the Army Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) Human Machine Integrated Formations (HMIF) Project Office (PO). The HMIF PO will collaboratively develop two complex HMIF formations, one integrated formation for an Armored BCT and one formation for an Infantry BCT within 27 months. This Systems Engineer will collaborate with system users, requirements owners, and developmental contractors to translate operational requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements to support the prototyping of the HMIF Armored and Infantry BCT formations.
Job Duties:
Support HMIF working level SE success.
Work/interface with and support DOTmLPF-P stakeholders across the HMI enterprise.
Conduct Analysis of Alternatives.
Provide documentation, track, and maintain configuration management using Digital Environments (DE) and included engineering tools.
Support requirements development and decomposition starting with Mission Engineering and progressing through system of systems and system level performance specification development.
Conduct Risks, Issues, and Opportunities identification, exploitation, and mitigation.
Plan, coordinate, schedule, direct, and control engineering and technical support activities applicable to systems development and capability integration.
Provide integrated, multi-disciplinary solution recommendations for resolution of technical problems.
Support acquisition contract documentation development; i.e., Statements of Objective, and Statements of Work.
Participate in the development and execution of test strategies.
Lead and work on multi-functional/multi-disciplinary teams.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
Required Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
10+ years of hands-on experience applying SE principles. Fewer years of experience will be considered based on complexity and success of the experience.
Experience in DoD acquisition programs. Army experience preferred.
Experience with evaluating projects using different methods and options to determine the most cost-effective solution that meets the required specifications.
Hands-on experience applying systems engineering and integration principles across both hardware and software systems.
Expertise with DoD acquisition process, authoring DoD acquisition documentation including systems engineering plans, and Performance Based Specifications.
Expertise and understanding of engineering across range of engineering disciplines.
Familiarity and functional execution experience with engineering tools typically included in digital environments.
Integration testing of systems of systems.
Desired Qualifications:
Recent engineering experience with military platforms, teleoperations, autonomy, EO/IR, and C4ISR systems and the associated hardware and software.
Familiarity with DoD Instruction 5000 acquisition lifecycle processes.
Superior writing skills inclusive of developing technical system-level specifications.
Excellent communications skills including the ability to generate and deliver focused briefings on complex topics to senior leaders.
