Morehouse School of Medicine, Office of Academic Programs and Affiliations (APA) has a new opportunity in the Chattanooga, TN area, where we are looking to hire a Program Manager for the Morehouse School of Medicine future regional medical campus and Community Outreach at CHI Memorial Chattanooga, TN. The person must live in the Chattanooga, TN area and must be willing to travel to Atlanta regularly. This exempt salaried staff position is supervised by the regional dean of the Morehouse School of Medicine for Chattanooga and has a dotted line reporting to the associate dean for APA. This matrix reporting position will report to the manager of community benefits and diversity at CHI Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.
The position is 0.75 FTE Morehouse School of Medicine and 0.25 FTE CHI Memorial.Minimum Qualifications:Education:Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, social work, or health-care related discipline.Experience:Demonstrated 3 years of experience in community outreach, public relations, human resource management, or related fields.Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, as well as basic Google platforms.Ability to learn or experience working with financial management tools.Preferred Qualifications:Education:Graduate degree preferred or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position may be substituted for the degree requirement.Job Duties:Arrange placement/rotations and clerkship schedules for MD and PA students in various settings following the MSM guidelines.Initiate and maintain community engagement through communication with students and other stakeholders.Collaborate with community programs and learning institutions to promote the More in Common Alliance.Drive recruitment of students from under-represented communities to Morehouse School of Medicine.Engage with potential donors to promote the regional medical campus and assist in raising funds.Search for external learning opportunities/partnerships and support those partnerships.Support the regional dean in activities to lead the creation of the MSM campus.Assist in the application for LCME recognition for RMC after sufficient student matriculation.Facilitate a robust pool of local program applicants and physician/PA preceptors.Participate in existing pathway programs and create new relationships to advance RMC development.Manage student relations and compliance with program goals.Serve as a central point of contact for student issues.Monitor and oversee program budget and maintain records of budget expenditures.Lead students through program orientation and onboarding processes.Participate in the recruitment of preceptors and support them in their educational deliverables.Develop and implement standardized processes for medical education functions.Manage affiliation agreements for clerkship clinical sites.Organize and promote community outreach programs.Perform related duties as required.Pre-Employment/Employment Requirements
