Essential Duties:A theoretical/computational scientist will assist the HRL team in evaluating the performance and quantum-control possibilities for spin-qubits, entangled photons, and/or other quantum systems, with an emphasis on computational methods.Candidate must exhibit abilities to read and to produce robust source code and associated mathematical analysis for numerical evaluation of methods to characterize qubits or photonic systems, to interact with experimental practitioners, and to provide critical input to developing methods for building and characterizing complex quantum experiments.Required Skills:Coursework or experience in applied quantum information theory (QCVV, channel/noise analysis, algorithms/QEC, optimized control theory, data analysis for quantum experiments, etc.).Familiarity with mathematical software development, preferably python-based, or alternatively Matlab, Mathematica, Julia, C/C++, etc., is a must.Prior in-depth interaction with experimental groups.Required Education:Doctoral degree in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, computer science, or similar field adjoining applied quantum information.Special Requirements:US Citizenship Required.Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.Compensation:The base salary range for this full-time position is $132,765 - $165,983 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
