Senior Software Engineer-GMD Weapons System (GWS)

Description:What We're DoingBecome a part of something meaningful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation’s defense against ballistic missile attacks.

The GMD Weapon System processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.

The WorkThe ideal candidate will engage in SW development activities in support of various analysis, design and program requirements; develop test plans and procedures.

The Senior Software Engineer responsibilities include:

Software development and support of the GMD Fire Controls (GFC) suite of products within the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Ground-based Midcourse Defense Weapon System (GWS) program.Developing and implementing software updates that best meet changing customer needs for new and existing features of the GFC system.Collaborating with team members, and working in a cross-functional agile scrum team.Support the GFC product development out of Colorado Springs, CO, primarily working within the support layer between the front-end and back-end of the GFC product.

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in a Computer Science discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years of related experience.Recent experience in design and development of software in an object-oriented programming language, with demonstrated skills in Ada and C++.Practical experience with Software Design.Recent experience with version control software and Atlassian tools, i.e. Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence and Jenkins.Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week while others may be condensed.Schedule for this Position:

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week.Pay Rate:The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $85,900 - $164,600.
