This is an onsite working manager position, responsible for administering the enterprise environment and supervising the day-to-day activities of the Datacenter/Operations and Network Administrator staff. Under direction, performs administrative, supervisory, and complex technical work in administration of the operational aspects of Information Technology Department including system administration, database configuration, networking, voice/data communications and support; exercises supervision over operational personnel; performs related work as assigned.
Please note:
This position is up to 75% remote work and 25% minimum in office time. When working remotely, 1-hour response time is required for urgent IT matters and is subject to change at any time.
The offering range for this position is $84,901.00 to $110,371.00.
This position will require the successful completion of a Criminal Justice Information Services fingerprint and background clearance within 90 days of employment, this must be maintained throughout employment.
Recruits, manages, mentors, evaluates and writes performance reviewsEnsure regular communication to CIO/Deputy CIO concerning projects, risks, concerns, problems, and needsProvide project updates ensuring on time/on budget delivery of enterprise projects/initiativesAbility to analyze and resolve server/application/database performance, capacity, replication, and other distributed data issuesHold weekly meetings with assigned staff to track progress and project milestonesWork closely with Division Leads to negotiate contracts and forecast expendituresEvaluates and develops procedures to improve departmental operations; directs preparation of documentationMeet with internal/external customers regularly to better understand their operational needsParticipates in budgeting, short and long-range planning, and development of department objectivesRegular use of VMware, BigFix, PowerShell, Splunk, SolarWinds, WSUS, O365, CyberArk, Netwrix, Nessus, and all other relevant Administration ToolsManage staff to update and track tasks and high priority projects within relevant project softwareParticipates in the operational change control process, capacity plans and the Coconino County business continuance plansEssential functions of this position include but are not limited to: walking; working with and around other staff and County employees; dealing with interruptions; repetitive motion (hand-wrist) for keyboarding; vision-acuity (near) for monitoring PC screen data; Color vision necessary for working with color coded cables; hearing and speech (ordinary conversation) for communicating with staff and customers; touch (finger dexterity) for keyboarding; Environmental hazards include electrical hazards associated with working with computers, servers and circuits, and potential for falls from ladders.
Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, management information systems or closely related field and four years of progressively responsible work experience in Datacenter Operations or Network Engineering, including two years supervisory experience; OR
Associate degree from an accredited college or university in computer information systems, management information systems or closely related field and five years of progressively responsible work experience in Systems Administration and/or Networking, including Voice and Data Telecommunications; including two years of supervisory experience; OR
Six years of progressively responsible work experience in Systems Administration and/or Networking, including Voice and Data Telecommunications; including two years of supervisory experience; OR
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
The
ideal candidate
will be an energetic, enthusiastic self-starter with an emphasis on the customer experience. This position will be working to support a 100+ server VMware environment providing critical services to Coconino County internal/external partners.
This position is exempt.
