KBR's Defense Systems Engineering (DSE) business unit is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our Cyber Security Solutions (CSS) Operating Unit. CSS delivers defensive cyber services and solutions to the DoD, Federal Agencies, and Intelligence Community. The Division has the expertise and experience in leading edge cyber technologies and develops its own solutions to prevent unauthorized access to Information and Operational Technology networks and devices.Job Summary: The Cloud Engineer will support the 33rd COS (Cyber Operation Squadron) Defensive Cyber Operations Team onsite at Lackland Air Force Base. This position will be an active part of this unit and will be responsible for monitoring, securing, and protecting the Air Force and Central Command global networks by ensuring network integrity, reliability, availability, confidentiality and responding to hostile network threats and attacks.Roles and Responsibilities:Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based systems being utilized in protecting the Air Force and Central Command global networks.Evaluate the organization’s technology infrastructure and determine the feasibility of cloud migration for emerging IDS/IPS technologies.Identify and integrate public and private cloud computing services to include AWS and Azure.Manage storage infrastructure in cloud systems to ensure data security and ensure backup plans are implemented, while initiating storage efficiencies to maximize effective data retrieval.Identify and resolve issues within the cloud infrastructure to include troubleshooting technical problems, debugging issues in real time, and implementing solutions to ensure the continuous operation of cloud services.Regularly assess the performance, security, and scalability of existing cloud systems and identify areas for enhancements/improvements.Monitor system health, track key performance metrics, and promptly address any issues or anomalies that arise. This includes troubleshooting technical issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective measures to minimize downtime and maintain service availability.Support the development and documentation of processes and checklists for maintenance associated with those systems.Other duties as related to the business functions, as assigned.Requirements & Qualifications:Education:High School Degree RequiredBachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experienceLicenses & Certifications:Active TS/SCI Security Clearance required.Required to have one of the following IAT Level II certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP.Required to have one of the following IAT CSSP certifications for Infrastructure Support: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND.Possession of one of the following certifications: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.Experience:Required minimum three to five years (3-5) of relevant experience; DoD experience preferred.Required minimum three to five (3-5) years’ experience in the following areas: Familiarity with managing identities, legal compliance, and cloud security concepts as well as a solid understanding of cloud networking ideas and settings.Skills & Abilities:Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Use of one or more main cloud computing platforms, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services (AWS).Knowledge of best practices for cloud security, such as encryption, control of access and identity, and adherence to security guidelines.Familiarity with cloud infrastructure automation and orchestration through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies.Ability to hold yourself and others accountable on short-term and long-term goals.Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.Understanding of x64-based computers using Microsoft based operating systems.Use of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
