Responsible professional work performing specialized duties involving the planning and implementation of outreach activities for the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. Work includes the identification and procurement of grant funds to assist the WIC program and its participants. Incumbents must also develop educational and promotional materials, and conduct nutrition education classes. Work includes planning and conducting outreach activities in conjunction with other public health and community organizations; and related duties as required.A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in public health, social work, a social science or a closely related field.One (1) year of professional experience in a maternal child program.Note : Professional experience is paid experience gained in a position that required a Bachelor's degree upon entrance. Related experience gained in an unpaid internship earned after receipt of a Bachelor’s degree will be accepted.Ideal candidates will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be able to effectively engage the public along all demographics, and establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.* Prior to appointment, the hiring agency is required to verify education claimed by the applicant to qualify for this classification.
