We are seeking cleared or clearable

Engineering Manager

for a critical role in our engineering organization to be responsible for managing our Sensors Engineering Department and ensuring successful completion of projects within that department.

This is a dual role position, involving direct management of a talented team of high performing multi-discipline engineers and managers as well as project engineering leadership for technically advanced development programs to produce cutting edge hardware and/or software products at the Cincinnati facility that support National Defense partners. The products produced at this facility support all domains of intelligence and defense battle spaces including land, sea, air, cyber, and space. Many of the problem-sets our customers expect us to solve do not have known solutions, so ingenuity is essential.

Your direct management responsibilities will include:

Managing and guiding engineering managers who have multi-discipline direct report engineers

Managing senior engineers who are direct reports

Setting objectives and then monitoring and reviewing yearly progress for your department

Being responsible and accountable for managing the workload of your organization

Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring top-ranked engineering talent

Providing timely, constructive support and feedback to your reports on a regular basis

Completing semi-annual performance assessments of your team members

Motivating your team members (engagement) and facilitating regular meetings with them

Providing mentoring and career development to each team member

Coordinating training for each team member

Providing appropriate tools and resources for your team's development activities

Your project engineering leadership duties will include:

Leadership of program technical execution in order to meet cost and schedule constraints

Program staffing for optimal execution

Technical direction, guidance, and mentoring of project team members

Working programs, proposals, or internally-funded activities in a technical or leadership role

Risk-mitigation planning and execution

Strategic problem solving

Earned value management

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, or other STEM degree and a minimum of 9 years' experience in an engineering role; or Masters of Science Degree in Engineering, or other STEM degree and a minimum of 7 years' experience in an engineering role; or Ph.D. in Engineering, or other STEM degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience in an engineering role.

Demonstrated technical leadership, engineering management, and/or program management experience.

US Citizenship is required

The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Current, active Top Secret clearance

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

Experience as a technical lead, functional lead, or leadership in the military.

Experience in multiple relevant technology areas (RF/Digital/Embedded S/W)

Experience in supporting proposals and developing BOEs.

Experience in recruiting and developing top engineering talent

M.S., M.B.A., or other advanced degree

Salary Range:

$164,200 - $246,400

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
