Technical Pre-Sales Manager
will work in collaboration with our existing sales team, focusing on DNV’s client-facing technical engagement when identifying leads, proactive participation during the sales process, and customer software implementation, primarily within the Americas Region market.The focus of this position is on our
Sesam software
and requires a strong demonstrable background in
Offshore Structures design
(preferably Fixed) in either oil & gas or renewables. An appreciation of the commercial aspects of the sales process is vital, therefore being able to present product value to our clients from a technical standpoint is essential.This role will lead by example and build strong relationships with client peers and internally with the wider regional commercial and product teams, along with global functions. A natural ability to engage clients at all levels of their engineering organization is a must.This position is an excellent opportunity to develop your commercial skills and further enhance your technical knowledge, with an anticipation that this would lead to strong career progression within DNV.This role will report to the Head of Sales.What you will do:Be a fully integrated member of the sales team, working closely with Sales Managers, leading the technical aspects of client discussions for our Sesam product.Coordinate with technical colleagues in the Support Team, Product Line, and Product Centre where necessary.Lead product presentations, software demonstrations, and workshops with clients.Define the scope of products based on client requirements, contribute to proposal documents, and coordinate responses to client technical queries.Contribute to the development of technical aspects of sales strategies.Work towards joint KPIs held with associated Sales Managers.Provide technical voice of the customer feedback to Product Managers and Product Marketing teams.Ensure successful product implementation and value creation by optimizing software utilization before handing over to our support team.Conduct scheduled technical check-ins with clients to ensure satisfaction and identify potential upsell opportunities.Create and present technical papers and participate in technical panels at conferences.Increase exposure and market knowledge of DNV’s Sesam product, focusing on offshore wind and oil and gas domains.Develop long-standing, resilient client relationships leading to win-win scenarios.Be an integral part of the wider commercial team.Be the go-to person for Sales Managers for technical questions.Run ad-hoc client workshops and training courses.What is required:A minimum Master’s Degree in Structural / Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture (or associated), with real-world industry experience.Hands-on experience with DNV’s Sesam software tools or similar industry tools.Strong technical knowledge and experience in offshore (fixed) structural design and/or transport & installation.A customer-oriented and collaborative mindset, with customer value as the key driver.Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.A commercial mindset or eagerness to learn.A willingness to travel to meet clients and attend events as required.Courage to make qualified independent decisions.Strong written and verbal English communication skills (Spanish or Portuguese advantageous).Flexibility with a proactive approach to prioritize tasks for optimal customer experience.Pre-employment drug and background screening conducted.What is preferred:Experience in a multi-cultural/multinational fast-paced environment.A track record in a similar pre-sales position with quantifiable achievements.Experience working remotely with associated reporting lines.Experience with Salesforce or other CRM applications.Driving license.
