For Project Engineers, EMJ accomplishes this Purpose by providing a structured PE program, with flexibility, and with the baseline goal to develop future leaders for both Operations and Preconstruction departments. Responsibilities change depending on assignment to ensure a Project Engineer has consistent opportunities to learn and grow. When assigned to one of EMJ’s regional offices, a Project Engineer will primarily assist Project Managers & Preconstruction Managers. When assigned to an active EMJ project, a Project Engineer will primarily support Superintendents. Gritty , all while displaying a positive, winning attitude in a team-based environment.Job Responsibilities:Field AssignmentRead, understand, and execute requirements within project specificationsReview and understand executed subcontract agreementsEmbrace our culture of quality by participating in Preconstruction meetings, as well as conducting 1st Work, In-Progress, and Close Up InspectionsReview submittals & shop drawings with SuperintendentsAssist in weekly project schedule updatesParticipate in weekly Trade Partner Coordination meetings, and other meetings as neededBuild strong relationships with trade partners by ensuring they have updated drawings, RFI responses, submittals, and schedulesUnderstand and participate in the Client Experience (CX) processIdentify and mitigate safety and SWPPP issuesExpedite RFI’s and maintain the RFI logRegional Office AssignmentAssist in bid solicitation, takeoffs and bid scope reviewConduct subcontractor reference checksExpedite Joint Check Agreements, Letters of Credit and Personal GuaranteeExpedite contract execution and receive insurance certificationsSchedule and participate in buyout meetingsAssist in Site Evaluations & Due Diligence tripsPrice value generated ideasExecute Cost Management/Control by assisting in both Pay Application and Change Order processesUpdate the jobsite plans and Contract Exhibits“ Start Strong | Finish Strong ” through the project start up and close out processPrepare submittal logs and material delivery logs for the fieldLead an effective OAC meetingCreate, maintain, and update project schedulesPrepare and present monthly Project Status Reports (PSR)Understand and participate in EMJ’s Client Experience (CX) processJob Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related area preferredExperience in Multifamily, Healthcare, or Commercial construction preferred, but not requiredStrong leadership potential with desire to learn and growWell organized and able to accomplish a variety of tasks in an efficient and timely mannerMust be goal orientedAbility to identify, investigate and quantify onsite issues, with corresponding resolutions and consequencesWillingness and ability to relocate with assigned jobsNight and weekend work may be requiredMust be able to lift up to 70 lbs.Must be able to stoop, bend, and stand for extended periodsComputer knowledge and efficiency, with the ability to learn specific web-based and software applications:SharepointProcorePhoenix Scheduling SoftwareAbility to obtain the following Certificates/ Licenses:Required certifications/trainings within first (3) months of employment:New-Hire Safety Orientation – Parts 1 & 2New-Hire Safety Orientation – Site SpecificAdditional certifications/trainings as needed:Job-specific Safety Training, which may include:Confined SpaceEMJ rewards its employees with competitive pay and benefits, an outstanding work/life balance, a first class office environment, and a position that recognizes and rewards entrepreneurial spirit.
