As the Global Transportation Optimization Specialist reporting directly to the manager of Global Logistics Reporting & Operational Excellence, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.As a Global Transportation Optimization Specialist, you will make an impact by:Leading strategic planning projects execution from data requirements perspective, engaging with consulting and key stakeholders to fulfill data needs.Driving transportation efficiency by leading and executing critical projects to drive flow, mode and cargo optimization on strategic, tactical and operational levels.Identifying new opportunities for leveraging efficiency through a data-driven approach combined with high operational/process knowledge.Acting as a business/technical reference for the team, assisting members in setting and translating clear business requirements for datasets and tools development.Leading global logistics metrics and KPI’s automation (global, regional and functional level).Setting standards, definitions and calculation logic for main metrics despite different processes and systems. Ensuring data quality, performance and reliability of the tools and metrics.Leading reports and dashboards supported by DAA organization to provide visibility to information and data to support decision-making at management level.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in Engineering, Computer Science and/or Supply Chain/Logistics field from an accredited institution.Minimum eight (8) years of combined experience in Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, Business Operations and/or Project Management in a private, public, government or military environment.Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Proven track record as a self-starter and independent worker.Proven experience in logistics systems (SAP, ERP, TMS, WMS).Knowledge in Microsoft Office tools (e.g. Excel and PowerPoint).Intermediary Power platforms knowledge (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).Experience with project management tools and agile methodology.Experience in business requirement gathering for technical/analytics project work.Basic (or seeking to develop) programming skills (SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS).Knowledge of statistical methods (e.g. Regression Models, Decision Trees, etc.).Ability to manage complex, matrixed situations across multiple organizational layers and geographies.Demonstrated capabilities in the following areas: analytics capacity, leadership, interpersonal skills, proactive and self-learning, influencing skills, change management, and process improvement methodology.Work location:Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to the 3M Center at least 3 days per week)
