Job Summary
This position is a member of the Operations leadership team and responsible for the procurement function, including sourcing, purchasing, and negotiating goods and services. Responsible for overseeing the procurement strategy and supervising teams of staff in purchasing.
Responsible for enforcing the company's policies and procedures regarding employment practices. Develops and fosters a well-trained and motivated staff.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and operational efficiency.Identify and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers based on quality, price, and reliability.Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions.Oversee the procurement process, including requisition, sourcing, purchasing, and delivery.Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements.Stay abreast of market trends, economic factors, and regulatory changes that may impact procurement.Lead and mentor the procurement team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.Translating business plans into purchasing operational plansDevelop cost-improvement plans, commodity business strategy, and initiatives that maximize benefits from emerging technologies.Evaluating employee performance and providing guidance and feedbackDirecting the development and preparation of bid specifications, RFQs, RFPs, purchase orders, and contractsDevelop and drive commodity business strategy.Provide strategic supply base management including supplier selection, negotiations, and supplier relationship/performance management.Drive continuous improvement in indirect material procurement and contractingEstablish KPI's in the department for regular reporting and tracking.Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the procurement/sourcing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional development.Drive continuous improvement activities to ensure problems are proactively identified, prevented and issues resolved efficiently and sustainably.Develop solutions to support the Companies ESG Strategy.This job description is not a comprehensive listing of activities or responsibilities, other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
In-depth knowledge and experience with vendor managementProven track record in developing and implementing commodity strategies to deliver improved supplier cost performance.Extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of purchasing.Experience with Industry standard ERP systems.Experience with global purchasing organizations and global suppliersStrong negotiation skillsExcellent analytical abilitiesProficiency in procurement software and toolsDeep understanding of supply chain management principlesEffective communication and interpersonal skillsStrategic thinking and decision-making abilitiesKnowledge of contract law and vendor managementLeadership and team management skillsEducation and Experience
Advanced degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain ManagementCertification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM)Familiarity with international procurement regulations and practices8+ Years of experience in a senior purchasing management role
