Install, maintain, and repair commercial electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with all relevant codes. Install conduit systems, hang light fixtures, install feeder wire, and terminate electrical panels.
Essential Functions
Layout, install, repair, or replace electrical wiring, equipment, components, and fixtures using hand and power tools based on job specifications, electrical drawings, and local codesInspect and troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety rulesDiagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problemTest electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures to ensure compatibility and safety of the systemUse a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, including circuit tracers, volt meters, megger, proximity testers, and ohmmetersInstall panel boards, transformers, motor control centers, and motorsLayout and work from ladders, aerial lifts, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, outlet/junction boxes, fixtures, and fixture whipsPlace conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxesConnect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other componentsPerform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objectsNotify the foreman or management when the continued operation of equipment could be hazardous or could cause a safety violationDirect and instruct apprentices and helpers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixturesUtilize time management skills in order to manage one's own time and the time of othersAssist with administration duties such as preparing Jobsite Safety Analysis, Jobsite Hazard Analysis, and preparation of safety reportsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, and Certifications
Licensed as an electrician OR3 - 7 years of related experience or equivalent knowledge and experienceWorking Conditions
The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (Hard hat, vest, protective eyewear, safety boots).Work is performed indoors and outdoors, often exposed to the natural elements of cold, heat, moisture, and wind.Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements and background screening process
