Production SpecialistWho we are looking for:We are currently searching for a Production Specialist to be based out of our Dallas, Texas plant. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this person will be responsible for technical training, planning, and management support for production technical activities. The Production Specialist will identify any issues related to Production and based on the expertise provide the necessary support to the Supervisor and Operators to run all products effectively.* Provide technical training for Extrusion and other Production related training.* Perform necessary start-up\shut down\line string-up and product qualification training to ensure optimal training efficiency and manufacturing operations.* Work with Supervisor and Operators to maximize extrusion line performance and perform duties correctly.* Perform inspections of proper print, wall, O.D., length, appearance, and bell fit on all lines.* Monitor and communicate performance status to Targets to Improve (TT* Enforcement of proper PPE at the facility and promote a safe work environment.* Promote a philosophy of continuous improvement and identify/implement steps for improvements.* Be familiar with Safety Data Sheets for standard chemicals in the work environment.* Review QC forms and confirm that they are completed accurately.* Identify and resolve quality issues.* Review daily paperwork (Operatory sheets, regrind log, forklift check sheet) and report to the Production Manager any discrepancies that have been identified.* Liaison with employees and management teams to identify ways to continually foster and promote a positive work environment by direct involvement with all levels of employees.* Training and Team Building* Perform all other duties as assigned as needed.What you'll bring:* High school diploma or equivalent.* Minimum of 24 months of PVC Extrusion experience with a basic understanding of powder flow and mechanical troubleshooting preferred.* Strong mechanical aptitude and forklift experience.* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.* Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.* Ability to identify production issues and to determine root causes and countermeasures.Within 3 months, you'll:* You will be immersed and understand the Atkore safety culture and values.* You will have completed any required trainings* Be well versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.Who we are:Atkore, a recipient of a Great Place to Work certification and a Top Workplaces USA award!
