Reporting to the Pendleton Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling production in the facility to ensure that goods are produced safely and efficiently, on time, within budget and to standard. This person will be our on-site PVC processing expert with knowledge and ability to guide and train operators on the production floor.What you'll do:Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety proceduresAnalyze and report department performance on production volume, cost, and qualityAnalyze and report (written and/or oral) to the Plant Manager the status of high priority jobs running in Production or issues deemed to be priority by Senior ManagementPlan and maintain resources for the department (people, equipment, etc.) to ensure on-time attainment of production and service requirements at the best cost and highest qualityProactively identify and implement process and quality improvements and initiate corrective and/or preventive actions when out of complianceSchedule and manage the daily production team; set goals, monitor key performance indicators, hire staff, develop and document training plans to ensure employees are trained and in compliance with all procedures; coach and counsel to improve results, conduct ongoing performance appraisalsLiaison with employees and management teams to identify ways to continually foster and promote a positive and safe work environment by direct involvement with all levels of employeesEnsure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments including procurement, distribution, and managementParticipate as an active member of the Plant Safety CommitteeAll other duties as assigned
What you'll bring:Minimum of 7 years of work experience in a PVC Extrusion manufacturing environment requiredHigh school diploma requiredBachelor's degree in business administration, management, engineering, or industrial technology preferredExperience and knowledge of Lean Daily Management principles preferredBasic computer skills in Excel, Word, Power Point and MS ProjectEffective leadership skills and problem-solving techniques is a mustAttention to detail, accuracy, time management and organizationTeamwork and project management skills, self-driven and accountableAll associates must embrace and foster an environment that supports our core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence

Within 6-months, you'll:Develop, implement, manage and communicate plans to establish internal manufacturing within quality and production objectives.Responsible for developing and managing a team to be responsible for Extrusion and other production departmentsDetermine and manage human and material resources in order to meet production targetsImplement, enforce, and analyze quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives and correct issuesDevelop, implement, and manage departmental standard workPartner with Safety and HR to investigate and provide corrective measures for on-the-job accidents, injuries, production issues, and HR issues.Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.
Within 12-months, you'll:Be managing an efficient team that delivers Atkore's strategy.Have meaningful performance conversations with your direct reports.Effectively and successfully perform your job duties.
