It is important to ensure the application of INCOSE (International Council on Systems Engineering) and MBSE (model based system engineering) best practices, focusing on technical processes, systems architecting, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality products in the HVAC industry.Location: Hybrid, Plymouth, MNWhat You Will Do:Leadership in SE Practices: Drive the adoption of System Engineering processes and MBSE (model-based) methodologies across all engineering teams, ensuring the integration of modeling tools and techniques into the product lifecycleSystem Architecture: Oversee the development of system architectures, using models to facilitate better communication and collaboration among stakeholdersDesign Definition: Lead the application of analytical methods for systems robust design and optimization methodologies, including tolerance analysis, design for Six Sigma (DFSS), and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), to ensure product reliability and quality. Drive the development of predictive models to evaluate total expected variation and ensure designs meet performance criteria across environmental and operational conditionsEstablish SE Processes: Identify and implement best practices for systems engineering, leveraging model-based approaches to streamline workflows and reduce time-to-marketChange Management: Lead change management initiatives to foster a culture of Systems Engineering. This includes training and mentoring teams on MBSE tools, processes, and benefits, ensuring smooth transitions during the implementation of new practicesStakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, validate designs, and ensure that models meet business and customer needsPerformance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of MBSE implementation and drive accountability across teamsKey Knowledge AreasStakeholder Requirements DefinitionRequirements Analysis & Interface GovernanceArchitectural Design & Platform DefinitionSystem VerificationDesign Definition using analytical methods for Systems Robust Design & OptimizationKey DeliverablesImplementation of systems engineering processes aligned with INCOSE and MBSSystem architecture frameworks that enable smooth integration of subsystemsClear documentation of requirements, interfaces, and validation criteriaSuccessful technical design selections and system-level design trade-offsRegular system validation reports and architecture reviewsKey KPIsAdoption of systems engineering practices across projectsReduction in system integration issues and reworkDelivery of products meeting quality, cost, and schedule targetsCross-functional alignment and collaboration in system developmentMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferredProven experience in systems engineering with a strong focus on MBSE methodologies and tools.Demonstrated success in leading change management initiatives, with a track record of establishing processes and fostering a culture of innovationStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts effectivelyUS Citizen. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this positionPreferred QualificationsINCOSE CSEP or ASEP certificationExperience in the HVAC industry is highly desirableWe provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $150,000 to $220,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
