This position will manage the human resources function supporting our California and West Coast home building operations and subsidiaries.Our successful history in this industry comes from developing a culture that rewards employees for hard work, perseverance and integrity. This philosophy has helped to not just make us an industry leader but also a place where people are challenged, encouraged and supported to make a positive impact every day.This is an on-site position in our corporate location in Denver, CO.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for employee relation activities, including advising and consulting management and employees regarding employee relation work related issues, employee retention, etc.. Escalates high-potential liability situations for the company to the VP of Human ResourcesProvides advice and consulting to supervisory personnel on human resources issues including performance appraisals, disciplinary action, salary adjustments, transfers and promotions, employee grievances, and human resources policy and procedure interpretation, and compliance with EEOC regulations.Implements and provides support for companywide HR initiatives and programs. Responsible for partnering with local management and building support and acceptance of programs.Maintains a current and thorough knowledge of all personnel policies and procedures in order to answer supervisor and employee inquiries. Identifies and recommends personnel policies and procedures in support of supervisor and employee inquires. Works with the VP of Human Resources to identify policies or procedures that may need to be changed as the organization changes.Maintains a current and thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations relating to the human resources functions. Acts as liaison with governmental and regulatory agencies in issues relating to human resources.Supports employee onboarding through new hire orientation and follow-up.Assist with training & development initiatives.Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise.Promote HR engagement programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace. Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates.Organize annual employee performance reviews.Assist with the administration of compensation benefit plans.May advise and help direct HR Coordinator with various questions and daily operational tasks.RequirementsBachelors degree in business, liberal arts (psychology, sociology, etc.), industrial relations or organizational development.A minimum of eight years of previous progressive experience as a HR Business Partner/ Generalist/Manager with a strong background in employee relations.A minimum of three years of experience providing HR support for California based employees.PHR/SHRM certified desirable.Strong knowledge of HR/personnel practices and principles, and all applicable labor, pay, benefits, health and safety laws and regulations.Able to handle high level of confidentiality regarding employee information.Ability to multitask with strong time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills.Benefits & Perks!While we value hard work, we also recognize the importance of having fun!
