Provider Support Specialist

PAY RATE:
$20.60 to $27.87 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY
The Provider Support Specialist supports early learning childcare providers. Responsible for ensuring providers are offering developmentally appropriate and safe early education programs that meet the School Readiness Health and Safety Standards as well as the Voluntary Prekindergarten program requirements. This position is an important liaison between ELCHC and the childcare provider community focused on building and developing relationships. The majority of this work will take place in childcare sites supporting providers on the School Readiness and VPK program requirements.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Conduct VPK and SR support visits using the DEL monitoring tool.
•Ensures monitoring information is entered into appropriate databases on a timely basis.
•Partner with Provider Quality Specialists to ensure basic quality standards are met
•Liaise with Coalition staff regarding provider closure notices, contract changes, temporary closures, and health and safety standards.
•Identify potential areas of support as identified by childcare licensing and/or DEL monitoring tools within the provider site; offer training and solutions to implement support; issue Corrective Action Plan (CAP) as necessary.
•Field inquiries from parents and providers regarding DEL regulations
•Provide accurate and prompt communications with the childcare provider community.
•Attend a minimum of 30 hours of professional development annually
•Perform other duties necessary to maintain the success of the organization, as determined by leadership.
•Assist contracts team with coordinating contractual requirements for Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) and School Readiness (SR) providers.
•Review and approve provider profiles in CCR&R database and provide technical assistance to providers as assigned.
•Assist with SR Tier 1 monitoring.

QUALIFICATIONS
•Associates degree from an accredited institution in early childhood education, social services or other closely related field; a combination of professional experience and education may be considered in lieu of a degree
•Ability to exemplify our Core Values of Integrity, Equity, Accountability, Collaboration, Innovation. Transparency, Consistency and Benevolence
•Experience in early childhood programs, monitoring or coaching experience preferred
•Advanced organizational, analytical, project management, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to provide consultation and technical assistance in a friendly professional manner
•Knowledge of Best-in-Class Customer Service Skills
•Proven ability to connect with a diverse population
•Ability to navigate challenging situations and provide solutions
•Familiarity with School Readiness Health and Safety standards
•Knowledge of School Readiness and VPK policies and procedures (Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code)
•Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Products
•This position requires successful completion of the level 2 background screening standards as set forth in s. 435.04, F.S.
•Valid Florida Driver's License and the ability to drive a passenger vehicle
•Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY/WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Work Environment:
This job operates in the childcare provider community and a general office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers/fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently interacts with staff, vendors, and the public in person and via telephone and email.
• Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit for prolonged periods, at a desk, utilizing a computer and reviewing online and paper documents. The employee will also be required to lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
