We are seeking an Accountant to join the Finance team to support our growing business and help as office manager when needed. Reporting to the Finance manager, the accountant will play a key role in managing our financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The willingness to be hands-on and do whatever is required to get the job done.Roles and Responsibilities
Maintain relationships with customers & vendors to drive cash flow management.
Manage internal relationships with operations staff, leadership, and other managers to ensure accurate and timely internal accounting & reporting.
Manage various overhead expenses to budget.
Report budget to actual variances monthly to budget owners.
Update monthly KPI dashboards and internal reports.
Receive and record customer payments and follow up with customers on past due balances.
Record credit card transactions.
Reconcile all bank accounts.
Calculate and record month end accruals and prepaid balances.
Complete month-end close timely, including reconciling and reviewing all accounts.
Assist in forecasts, budgets, and financial analysis.
Prepares special reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.
Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining all relevant supporting schedules in audit-ready fashion.
Express professional scepticism to provide business insights and respond to inquiries.
Identify and implement ways to shorten the month-end close process by finding efficiencies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
Extensive experience in account reconciliations
Extensive experience in general ledger, journal entries, and month-end closing procedures.
Extensive experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
Excellent attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with computer proficiency.
Ability to adapt to changing environments.
Experience in tax accounting a plus.
Certification in QuickBooks preferred.
A high degree of integrity in handling confidential information
Strong customer service skills with the ability to think quickly and creatively to solve problems.
