Virginia Mason Franciscan Health brings together two award winning health systems in Washington state. CHI Franciscan and Virginia Mason. Responsibilities
The General Surgery unit, otherwise known as CP 15, is a 20 bed unit with an average daily census of 19. For the most part our patient population is composed of patients following gastrointestinal surgeries (ie whipples, liver resections, colorectal, bariatric, etc.). We are proud to be an accredited Center of Excellence for bariatric surgeries. We work closely with our surgical teams to ensure excellent care of all our patients. We do have some medical patients on occasion as well. We are a busy unit with opportunities to learn and practice a variety of skills such as; ostomies, all types of GI drains, tube feedings, pain management pumps, insulin drips, and more. We are an excellent place to receive a solid medical surgical foundation. We have an excellent team player culture and are proud to say we have team members whose time here ranges from a few months to 10 and 20+ years. We would love to have you join our team!

Responsibilities:
The registered nurse provides high quality, skilled nursing services -Assists the patients to achieve optimum health and functional health status following an illness requiring hospitalization.
Collaborating with physicians and other health care professionals, the Registered Nurse prepares the patient and family for discharge to home or another setting for continued care.

Qualifications
We require:
Current WA State RN license is required.
1 or more years recent RN experience with acute care patients.
CPR certification is required every two years or as specified by the work.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements
