The Vice President of Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) Services is a senior executive role responsible for overseeing the strategic, operational, commercial, and financial performance of the GPO division. The VP will lead efforts to enhance the organization's purchasing power, develop strategic partnerships, and ensure that member organizations receive maximum value through cost savings, quality improvements, and innovative solutions. This role demands a deep understanding of the medical supply and pharmaceuticals supply chain, strong leadership skills, and the ability to foster relationships with key stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:Refine and implement GPO Services' strategic vision and objectives in alignment with the broader organizational goals.Identify and pursue new opportunities for growth, including expanding the GPO's membership base and service offerings.Lead and mentor a team of professionals within the GPO division, fostering a high-performance culture.Financial Management:Oversee the financial performance of the GPO, ensuring budgetary goals are met and financial risks are managed effectively.Work closely with the finance team to develop pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and financial models that maximize profitability while delivering value to members.Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), financial metrics, and market trends to inform decision-making.Contracting and Supplier Management:Lead the negotiation and management of contracts with suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers to secure the best pricing, terms, and conditions.Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, ensuring alignment with the GPO's goals and objectives.Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards in contracting and procurement processes.Member Relations and Growth:Serve as the primary point of contact for GPO members, ensuring their needs are met and they are satisfied with the services provided.Develop and implement member engagement strategies, including regular communication, education, and feedback mechanisms.Drive member growth by identifying and pursuing new member acquisition opportunities and enhancing the value proposition for existing members.Operational Excellence:Oversee the operational aspects of the GPO, including supply chain management, data analytics, and process improvement initiatives.Implement technology solutions and best practices to optimize procurement processes and enhance operational efficiency.Ensure that the GPO's operations are scalable and adaptable to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare industry.Market and Industry Engagement:Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics affecting the healthcare supply chain and group purchasing activities.Represent the GPO at industry conferences, events, and meetings, serving as a thought leader and advocate for the organization.Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, including healthcare providers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is preferred; or equivalent experience.Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role within a healthcare GPO, supply chain, or procurement organization, with at least 5 years in an executive or senior management position.Skills:Proven track record of strategic leadership and operational management.Strong negotiation and contract management skills.Exceptional financial acumen and experience managing large budgets.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with senior executives, suppliers, and members.Deep understanding of the healthcare industry, including trends, regulations, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.Key Competencies:
