Every employee takes a person-centered approach that exemplifies the ICARE values (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence) through empathic communication and partnerships between all persons.Job DescriptionResponsibilities: Manage conservative, preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative patient care in the outpatient and inpatient setting through conducting history and physical exam, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and providing appropriate medical treatment. Educate and counsel patients regarding medical diagnoses and treatment options.Collaborate with supervising physicians, residents, and other medical professionals to optimize patient experience.First and second assist with cosmetic and reconstructive cases on pediatric and adult patients. Manage surgical schedules and prepare clinics with pre-screenings. Obtain insurance preauthorizations, peer to peers, and appeals.Demonstrate, teach, supervise, and precept PA students and pre-PA students in clinical and surgical activities to develop student's knowledge and skills to ensure proper patient care.Train and mentor all incoming PA's including the OMFS PA. Create and maintain Bellevue Guidelines with all team members, their roles and responsibilities.prepare the plastic surgery note templates and smart phrases including preops, follow ups, discharge summaries, procedure notes, letters of medical necessity, and letters for work and distributed to our serviceManage and screen clinics to convert clinic slots to televisits and video visits to ensure a balance of safety and social distancing for clinic staff, providers, and patients. Create new templates for telehealth and distribute instructions to the teamHours: Monday - Friday 11pm - 7am (OVERNIGHTS)No weekends/ holidaysMinimum Qualifications1. Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant; or 2.
