Department OverviewDepartment Summary: Five ambulatory oncology infusion rooms located in the Portland metro area. Chair/bed number ranges from 15-18 depending on site. Provide care to both Oncology and non-Oncology patients. Open 7 days a week including holidays and weekends. Department Specific Working Conditions: - Shared and collaborative infusion space. - Ability to alternate between various work sites, depending on the practices¿ space allocation, division of daily work activities, etc. - Rotate into other assignments (conditional based on appropriate training) such as infusion referrals, triage and charge nurse.

Function/Duties of Position$52.11- $86.81 per hour, based on RN Degree and level of experience.

Rotate into other assignments (conditional based on appropriate training) such as OLC, triage and charge nurse

Required Qualifications

BSN Graduates: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) 30 days before start date.

ADN Graduates: Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program 30 days before the start date.

Associate Degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire

Internal ONA applicants: Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred

Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License

BLS at time of hire and must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)

BLS must not expire during orientation

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

Department Specific Requirements (competencies, equipment, certifications, etc.):

At least 2 years of RN experience at time of hire

Completion of ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy administration certification during orientation

Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English

Navigate information technology associated with the position

Use Electronic Health Record information and associated tools

Record, track and assign duties and processes to ensure appropriate billing and revenue generation, when applicable

Facilitate care coordination with other providers and services to complement ambulatory Oncology care and meet holistic needs of the patient and family.

Preferred QualificationsCurrent OHSU employees: BSN preferred

Department Specific Preferences (competencies, certifications, etc.):

ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card

At least one year of experience working in Adult ambulatory Hematology/Oncology in the past 5 years

IV access proficiency. Experience working with Central Lines, Port-a-cath. Experience handling and administering hazardous medications.

At least one year of experience in outpatient infusion in the last 5 years.
