Department OverviewThe Hematology, Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplant unit operates 24/7 and provides exceptional care to patients with life-threatening diseases and disorders such as cancer, immune disorders, and blood disorders. Our patients range from birth to 20 years old and the unit has 21 beds.

Function/Duties of Position$8,000 Hiring Bonus for candidates with at least (1) year acute care hospital registered nurse experience. Must begin work by June 30, 2025 to qualify. Relocation assistance package available.

$52.11- $86.81 per hour, based on RN Degree and level of experience.

OHSU is the only hospital in Oregon that performs Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell Therapy (CAR-T) and Bone Marrow Transplants.

Required Qualifications

Associate or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA)

BSN preferred

Associate Degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire.

Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English

Basic computer skills including the ability to send/receive email, navigate information technology associated with the position, and use Electronic Health Record information and tools

Current unencumbered Oregon RN license

Current BLS and PALS certifications issued by the American Heart Association

APHON/ONS Chemotherapy certifications

Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

One year Hematology/Oncology/BMT Experience or completion of a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT Internship program

CPON/CPHON/BMTCN or ONS Certification

Additional DetailsLength of Orientation

Either Transition to Practice (TTP) Program Learning Pathway or Orientation experience individualized to the candidate between 2-12 weeks.
