Position Summary
The person in this position accumulates parts, assembles, disassembles, packages, and performs alterations on a variety of company products and components; as well as tests the completed assemblies for conformance to company procedures and specifications.
Essential Job Functions:Collects and prepares necessary materials for assemblyFollowing work orders and company procedures, assembles units, parts of units, consoles, brackets, and other partsReceives daily instruction from line leaderTransforms individual components into electro-mechanical and optical assemblies using necessary tools and equipmentExercises responsibility for quantity and quality of partsHandles and processes flawed products for return to vendor or repairMaintains paperwork as requiredPerforms routine preventative maintenanceConducts routine quality checks as requiredVerifies counts to the parts to be assembledApplies labels to parts after assemblySets up and operates simple, repetitive equipmentWorks responsibly and efficiently, adhering to all safety rules and policiesMaintains proper housekeeping throughout the entire shift to ensure safetyComplies with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendancePerforms other duties as needed upon request by immediate supervisorQualificationsQualifications:
Trained in the proper use of equipmentExperience with lean manufacturing techniques requestedExperience in ISO or Six Sigma environments helpfulShould have the desire to produce a quality product with a team effort in the assembly processEducation:
High school graduate or equivalent, must be able to verifyKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Hands on experience with small hand and power tools used in assembly operationsAbility to perform basic tasks for assembly and data entry on computersAbility to follow instructionsWork Conditions:
The work conditions are representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizationsPhysical demands include exposure to extreme temperatures, temperatures can vary from very cool to very warm and lifting up to 50 lbsEar protection required when exposed to noise for an extended period of time, noise levels will vary but typically can be moderate to loudOvertime work could be involved and will be required if neededAbility to stand and/or walk throughout the warehouse for extended periods of timeUse of arms, hands, legs and back is required for repetitive motions of lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting
