What You'll Do/Need
( Job Summary):
The Controller, reporting to the President will have supervision of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory Costs, Financial Reporting, Cash Management, Information Technology, and Payroll. This individual will have significant (10 + years) Accounting Finance experience and five plus years of experience within a company in a manufacturing/distribution setting. Experience in an industrial, business to business environment that has several thousand SKUs and 150 plus transactions per day; including sales, cash payments, payments on account, accounts payable, payments by different methods. This individual will drive the Company's process related to financial plans and policies, accounting practices, internal controls, maintenance of financial records and preparation of financial budgets, and periodic reports. They will have experience in hiring and supervision of 3 plus staff members. They will handle multiple accounts and LLCs as well as personal financial information for the President.
Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Responsibilities)
•Coordinates, directs and prepares the Company's budget and financial forecasts and analyzes report variances.Development, analysis and interpretation of financial and operating information and reports to determine profitability, performance against budget, forecast and other matters effecting the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the company.Develops tools to measure customer and product profitability and prepares reports for company management.Track numbers and Create and keep up a dashboard with KPIs for each managerEvaluates and develops effective internal processes and financial controls for the organization.Maintains the company's system of accounts and keeps books and records on all company transactions and assets, as well as related companies, LLCs, Trusts, etc...Prepares and analyzes monthly and annual financial statements on a timely basis. Likely within a week of month end. Fill out all financial documentsWorks with President and outside Agents to perform risk management evaluation by reviewing company insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities and works as human resources department to manage employee benefit program.Responsible for evaluating the performance in the accounting department including hiring, maintaining records, develop and train staff at the highest level of skill necessary to meet company needs and objectives.RPRSResponsible for managing outside accounting firm relationship including timely annual compilation and tax returns or any other information needed.Responsible for tax planning and compliances with state corporate franchise, state sales tax returns, payroll and other taxes. Assure that all returns are filed in a timely manner.Oversight of inventory control and assure performance including perpetual inventory, cycle counting, physical inventory procedures, inventory adjustments and all inventory variances accounts. Assure we have annual inventory appraisal.Supervise and manage a team of individuals and report to the President of the Company.Demonstrate master user skill set regarding the understanding and maintenance of Company's ERP System and operation of the system.A track record of improving processes and driving workplace organization.Sets a high standard for ethical behavior both personally and for the accounting team.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities required)
•Bachelor's degree in accounting (CPA Not needed)
Minimum of five (5) years in the position of controller or 10 years working up to being a controllerSignificant experience working for a company that is less than $100,000,000 in sales.Advanced computer skills including extensive use of Excel and Word and experience with maintaining IT for a business including the ERP. Skills with the implementation of a new ERP would be nice, but not necessary.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.A team player that understands how to work effectively with a strong sense of urgency.A proven track record of leading and developing an accounting team.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
•The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
•The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading.
•Sedentary work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
•Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed clearly and understandably both in person and over the telephone.
•Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
•Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
•This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
•This position requires up to 10% travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight.
