$75,000 - $90,000* base salary + annual bonus

*The range provided is based on cost of living/geography and what we believe is reasonable in the market at the time of posting. This role may be eligible for annual bonus and annual merit increase, as well as long term compensation. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors.

How You'll Perform the RoleFunctional Requirements and Specific Responsibilities

HS classification of goods, components and materials in all countries where Novolex conducts international trade. A very high level of accuracy and documentation, including rationale, is expected

Organize goods and materials into classification charts

Build reference and training materials that can be distributed to a variety of audiences, both internal and external. Deliver training as needed

Evaluate duties for items, including special duties such as ADD/CVD, Section 232, and Section 301

Determine PGA applicability and coding, especially FDA

Perform internal reviews of SKU classifications and associated information on a regular basis, making corrections as needed

Classification of export shipments by Schedule B and ECCN

Work with Novolex businesses and suppliers to obtain product information and documents to ensure correct determinations of classification and associated info

Assist with FTA determination and certificate issuance during fall surge and otherwise when needed

Research and respond to inquiries and requests directed to the Office of International Trade Compliance

Special projects as assigned

What We Need From You

Minimum 5 years of professional experience working in import and export compliance

Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) is a plus but not required

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

Skilled in the use of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS),U.S. Customs binding rulings, General Rules of Interpretation, and Explanatory Notes

Experience working with PGAs such as FDA, CFIA, TSCA and Lacey Act

Experience in classification of machinery, tools, consumer packaging, and chemicals is a plus

Familiarity with EAR, CCL, and other export control lists and regulations

Must have strong attention to detail

Demonstrate outstanding problem-solving skills

Must organize and prioritize work effectively in a dynamic and complex environment to manage workload and meet deadlines

Must work well individually and as part of a collaborative team

Proficient with complete Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) PowerBI a plus
