$171,689.00 to $312,144.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
About Our Opportunity
Our Vice President Food and Agribusiness Fixed Income (VP) primarily works to develop, grow and sustain a large portfolio of diverse Capital Market assets, by building relationships with financial partners, industry contacts and borrowers. This role is ultimately responsible for all activities involved with identifying, acquiring, developing, analyzing, underwriting (with Food and Agribusiness VP- Credit) and on-going servicing of a portfolio of large and complex loan investments (investments will typically exceed $10 million in transactions of $100 million to multi-billion dollars) by coordinating closely with Credit, Legal, Finance, and Accounting team members. The VP Food and Agribusiness Fixed Income generally sources these investments via an extensive network of Investment Banks, Broker/Dealers, and direct institutional investor networks. Significant experience and knowledge relating to securities laws, trading platforms, transactional details, market trends and information are required.
The VP Food and Agribusiness Fixed Income understands, analyzes, and discusses complex financial issues and understands industry trends. Food and Agribusiness customers may be headquartered in the Association's chartered territory or throughout the United States by way of participations/syndications with other lenders, or outright purchases of securities and/or investments.
About Our Food & Agribusiness TeamThe Food and Agribusiness team is responsible for servicing the Association's corporate and commercial lending customers. The portfolio includes originated loans, including those where Farm Credit Mid-America may be the administrative agent with exposure sold to other lenders, and purchased interests in multi-bank syndications, participations, and other debt instruments.
How You Will Spend Your Time
Develop, maintain and enhance relationships with investment banks, top Broker/Dealer and Investment Bank debt capital markets and trading groups, other investors in the same asset classes, and large commercialagribusinesses, assuring ongoing access to capital market opportunities.Maintain active account and prospective account relationships.Maintain a sound working knowledge of assigned industry trends and characteristics.Manage and coordinate a comprehensive sales, marketing and investment plan. Develop new and innovativeinvestment alternatives and markets.Maintain an ongoing knowledge and awareness of current market trends, competitive issues and industrydevelopments.Maintain a high level of communication and coordination within Food and Agribusiness, Credit, Legal,Accounting and other departments within the organization to effectively market large loans to Capital Markets clients and large farmers.
Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Agriculture or related field. 7 to 9 years of progressively responsible credit experience involving the marketing and extension of credit to Agribusiness and large, complex farm accounts, debt capital market sources. Combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience with information platforms like Bloomberg is required. Experience having sold and/or traded public and private debt, 144a's, bank loans and other high yield instruments is required. Extensive knowledge and experience of clearing and settlements procedures, including familiarity with DTC, LSTA and credit settlement platforms such as ClearPar, the Physical Security Clearing House and individual Agent Banks, as well as Issuer, Investor, and Borrower's Counsel.
Series 7, 63 and/or 24 FINRA licenses preferred.Experience at large publicly traded Investment Banks, or middle-tierInvestment Banks preferred.A history of making markets in both liquid and illiquid investments or securitiesis also preferred.

Standing or walking is frequently required, while occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds.
