Position HighlightsThis position will be responsible for providing a variety of clerical and reception duties for the day-to-day functions of the various Campus Health Service (CHS) clinics. This position reports to the Support Services Supervisor.
The CHS was the first fully accredited college health service in the nation and in the Princeton Review, the CHS has been ranked in the top 4% for Best Health Services for the past nine years. click here .Duties & ResponsibilitiesMaintains the CHS' front offices by demonstrating proper telephone etiquette, ensuring accurate billing using a variety of accounts, maintaining patient scheduling, and creating electronic patient records.Performs cashiering duties.Displays professional customer service to patients.Provide reliable, attentive, and professional support for clinical staff.Verify insurance eligibility for service at CHSScan documents into the electronic medical record.May perform additional duties such as, rooming patients, measuring height, weight, vital signs, hearing, vision, etc., and maintaining record on electronic medical record.Additional duties may be assignedKnowledge and Skills Required:Must demonstrate sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues.Ability to remain calm under pressure, exude a helpful demeanor; and display a professional customer service orientation.Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as a member of a team.Comfort and familiarity with operating a Windows based computer and multi-line telephone system; an ability to utilize an electronic scheduling system.Must have computer, keyboard, and 10-key proficiencyKnowledge of basic record keeping, standard office procedures and skill operating current office equipment.Understanding of medical terminology; basic understanding of health insurance and medical records.Ongoing CPR Certification.Excellent customer service, communication, and phone skills.Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.Minimum of 3 years of medical office experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications
Certificate of completion of a Medical Administrative Assistant Program.Experience with electronic medical records.
