Position Highlights

The University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy seeks an Accountant, Senior (Accountant II) to manage college accounts, process financial transactions, and assist with building and tracking budgets. The position reports to the college's finance office and works closely with the college's faculty, Health Sciences Research Administration, University Financial Services, and Sponsored Projects. click here .Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist with management and reconciliation of various funding sources including state, designated, sponsored, and gift (including Foundation) accounts and provides monthly reports to faculty.Reviews and monitors account spending to ensure accuracy and compliance; investigates, calculates, and enters corrections when needed to ensure budgets adhere to account budget and university policy.Assist with the review and monitoring grant proposal budgets.Prepare financial and personnel effort statements for grant progress reports, carryover requests, and close-outs.Coordinate with grant sponsors to provide information and follow up on status of award documents.Review account information with faculty periodically to analyze activity and assess burn rates.Reviews and approves financial transactions ensuring accounts have sufficient budget, accurate coding, proper documentation, and compliance with university and sponsor requirements.Perform general financial accounting activities such as, initiating, reviewing, monitoring, and approving financial transaction including journal entries, payroll transfers, reconciliations, requisitions, check requests, and internal billings.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong written and oral communication skills.Excellent organization skills.Knowledge and expertise in accounting principles.Ability to provide excellent customer service.Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience.Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with UAccess Analytics, Financials, and Employee.Experience working with Sponsored Projects/Grants.
