Columbus Corporate HeadquartersResponsibilitiesThe Senior Manager of Reporting oversees all financial reporting activities, corporate accounting, consolidation and financial reporting process for all brands in the Phoenix portfolio. This also includes the implementation of internal control policies and procedures. Other responsibilities include evaluating new and developing accounting literature/guidance and pronouncements; ensuring compliance in all aspects of accounting and financial reporting; integrating and developing processes that meet business needs across the organization. In addition this position plays an integral part of the team providing analytics, reporting and leadership of the payroll and reporting team. Oversees all aspects of the Payroll Department and outsourced relationship with the provider. This position owns overall strategy and manages complex accounting issues within functional areas of expertise.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare, review and distribute annual financial reporting, including footnote disclosures to executive management, lenders and other
parties within established timeframes, while maintaining the highest quality, reliability and accuracy
Oversee all corporate accounting functions including: Financial Reporting, Fixed Assets, lease Accounting, Payroll, Franchise/Licensee invoicing, and PeopleSoft Financials systems maintenance
Manage payroll team and oversee the relationship with ADP for outsourced payroll services
Independently research, apply and implement changes in authoritative accounting guidance to determine impact on the company
Provide technical direction to the organization through summary updates to the Controller and CFO regarding new accounting guidance
Look for and finds opportunities to continuously enhance our payroll and finance reporting processes
Ability to analyze and resolve payroll related issues
Develop a close working partnership with IT, HR, Store Operations
Own the integration and consolidation of new brands/businesses into the Phoenix portfolio of brands
Manage the timely and accurate preparation of budget, forecast, and LRP of various financial line items including rent, depreciation and returns reserve.
Oversee the timely and accurate financial close of all brands and the subsequent consolidation into the general ledger for consistency in consolidated reporting.
Maintain accounting policies and appropriate internal control environments in our multi-channel/multi-brand environment
Evaluate and implement processes that enable efficiencies and create cost savings for the Company
Cultivate and manage relationships with cross functional and external parties, including providing education around accounting and financial architecture of the Company
Lead and develop internal talent for succession planning and talent optimization in line with Company values
Serve as key resource to the Controller for GAAP accounting issues and reporting matters
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
Provide guidance and execution in the accounting strategy of implementing acquired entities
Steer strategic system implementation initiatives to streamline accounting processes ensuring GAAP and SOX compliant operations
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business required, Master’s degree is a plus
Experience: 10+ years of industry or Big Four public accounting experience, CPA preferred
4+ years of leadership management experience
Payroll experience
Experience with payroll migration and owning the relationship with the provider

Expert level knowledge of research and accounting guidance
Proven management capability and understanding of concepts underlying the theory and practice of recording, classifying, examining and analyzing financial transactions

Attention to detail, ability to make quick and informed decisions, leadership and communication
