Consult with executive leadership to determine and develop the manufacturing operations strategic plan, policies, and proceduresDefine specific strategic objectives for measured key performance indicators in operations at a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual levelImplement processes, capabilities, systems, and initiatives that propel a continuous improvement culture through the use of SystemsPrepare and oversee the budget and expense management for operations and sub-functionsOversee all facets of supply chain and manufacturing, ensuring that they are carried out in a manner consistent with the organizational goals and objectives, quality systems, and regulatory requirementsLeadership and People Development
Develop overall knowledge and understanding of supply chain and operational strategies in order to improve performance of all functions, leveraging Systems.Support the supply chain and operations leadership team with administrative activities specific to Safety, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Packaging, Engineering, Maintenance, and Facilities ManagementAssist in directing all functions related to the purchase of equipment, supplies, and services for each department for the purpose of ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and general accounting proceduresIdentify, recommend, and implement goals and objectives consistent with company's mission, vision, and valuesProvide leadership, motivation, and direction leveraging the seven core principles of the Leadership ModelProvide regular communication and feedback to the operations team and all managersDevelop a team-orientated manufacturing environment, dedicated and committed to quality and customer satisfactionOptimize resource allocation and operations planning to optimally use human and material resourcesRecruit, interview, hire, and train operations management team membersSafety, Plant Production, Environmental Services, Maintenance and Engineering KPI's
Ensure safety procedures, standard operating procedures, GMP's, and standard work are adhered to dailyAssist in establishing productivity measures for each process area and help develop and review production variance reports to resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues to ensure optimized costs and minimized operational delaysReinforce that standards for product quality, equipment function, and operator performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize productionProcess and Product Improvement
Support operations to introduce process improvement initiatives to increase productivity and continually review all aspects of operations in an effort to control and reduce costsAnalyze feasibility of new products and product improvements for serial productionKeep current on the latest automation equipment available for the industryCommunicate effectively with other departments within the organization and function within a team environmentEducation, Qualifications, and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management and/or Science Degree in related disciplineMinimum of 15 years lean manufacturing and transformation experience, with tangible results in operational performance metrics and people development (Lean Certification a plus)Minimum of 15 years experience in leading complex processes, specifically in manufacturing, supply chain, quality, product development, or related enterprise functionsProcess Engineering experience in a GMP production or pharmaceutical environmentExtensive continuous improvement knowledge, with strong proficiency in lean tools/techniques (e.g. Value Stream Analysis, TPM, Strategy Development/Deployment)Excellent leadership skills, particularly with influencing, coaching, and teaching capabilitiesExcellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, including the ability to speak and communicate effectively with both senior management, hourly associates, and external partnersAbility to assign priorities in a fast-paced and changing environmentProven track record functioning as a strategic leader and implementor of plansIn-depth understanding of business processes and related implementationSolid knowledge of performance reporting and KPI managementStrategic acumen with expertise and capacity to challenge current thinkingStrong organizational and multi-tasking skills with attention to detailBroad experience in manufacturing optimization and driving increased velocity and flow across manufacturing and business processesCapable of operating independently and as part of a teamDedicated, accountable, and results-oriented, with a sense of urgencyKnowledgeable in personal computer applications required (Excel, Word, Visio, and PP)
