Vice President of Operations
for its client in
Holland, MI.
The person will be responsible for leading manufacturing operations and driving strategic initiatives to enhance
efficiency, quality, and profitability. This role requires extensive experience in manufacturing processes, operational excellence, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement
while overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and execute operational strategies to enhance manufacturing efficiency, logistics, warehousing, and distribution.
• Oversee all aspects of the manufacturing process, including production planning, quality control, logistics, and supply chain management.
• Lead and mentor plant managers and operational teams to achieve production goals and maintain high-quality standards.
• Work closely with manufacturing, logistics, and distribution teams to align strategies and improve overall operations.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and reduce waste.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, logistics, and other departments to ensure alignment with operational goals.
• Analyze operational metrics and performance data to identify trends and drive improvements.
• Manage budgets and resource allocation to maximize profitability while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Foster a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and best practices.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure operational success.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on operational performance and improvement initiatives.
• Drive the implementation of technology and automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for manufacturing operations.
• Lead efforts in workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning to ensure a skilled workforce.
• Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to align manufacturing capabilities with market demand and customer needs.
• Monitor industry trends and advancements to ensure the organization remains competitive and innovative.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in operations management within a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain management.
• Extensive experience in logistics, distribution, warehousing, and transportation.
• Familiarity with budgeting, financial analysis, and cost management.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate at all levels.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on mentorship and employee development.
• In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite , manufacturing software and tools, including ERP systems.
