JOB SUMMARY: This position is accountable for managing the overall operations of a defined patient care unit during an assigned shift. The incumbent is accountable for monitoring, evaluation, and directing patient care provided by staff, coordinating activities of the patient care unit, making staff assignments and assisting with the development and evaluation of staff members. The incumbent will assist with the recruitment and hiring of staff, evaluating staff competency and evaluating, coaching, and counseling assigned staff in concert with the Manager/Supervisor. This position practices within the scope of the Nursing Practice Act, and in accordance with Children's policies.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 years full time or equivalent nursing experience requiredExperience in pediatrics, rehab and/or hospital inpatient setting a plusPrior leadership experience preferredBilingual skills desirableEDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATES:
Graduate from an accredited nursing programBachelor's degree required, Bachelors in nursing highly desirableActive California Registered Nurse licensure (RN)HeartCode Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer into positionPediatric Emergency Assess, Resuscitation & Stabilization (PEARS) within 12 months of hire or transfer into position
POSTION DETAILS:
Full time, 6 shifts per 2-week pay period, Day shift
PAY RANGE:
$53.00 - $65.00
