**ALL BUS DRIVER POSITIONS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR FULL-TIME BENEFITS**
CALENDAR: 195 days (182 work days + 13 holidays)
SITE: Department of Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday
HOURS: Varies (see examples below) 6.0 hours per day (SPLIT SHIFT): 6:30 am to 9:30 am AND 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm 6.5 hours per day (SPLIT SHIFT): 6:00 am to 9:30 am AND 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm SALARY RANGE (15): $ 24.17 to $ 33.07** per hour
**EXPERIENCE CREDIT:
A maximum of two (2) years may be granted for experience outside the Beaumont Unified School District. Therefore, an external new hire's maximum starting salary for this position is $ 26.14 per hour (Range 15/Step 3).

DEFINITION
Under general supervision, a person who operates a school bus over designated routes transporting school children, and does other related work as required.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Drives a bus daily, or as assigned over designated routes transporting children to and from school or on field trips; maintains order among children on the bus and at bus stops; follows district policies in dealing with the discipline of pupils and contact with parents, staff, and general public; observes all rules and regulations of the district and state laws and regulations regarding transportation of pupils in a safe and efficient manner; also, responsible for keeping vehicle clean and fueled.

REQUIREMENTS (MUST BE ATTACHED TO APPLICATION):
CA CDL - Class A or B California Commercial License Must have the following endorsements: -Passenger (P) -School Bus Endorsement (S)DL-51 - DMV Medical Report (Medical Examiner's Certificate)DL-45 - CHP Special (School Bus) Driver Certificate Acceptable Restrictions: -1: automatic transmission only -6: first aid waiver (if restricted, must submit a separate First Aid Certificate)First Aid Certificate* *Only required if DL-45 has restriction 6 (first aid waiver)
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
One year of bus driving experience.
Knowledge of:
School bus transportation procedures and safe bus driving practices; State laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to school bus operations and pupil transportation. First aid practices. Ability to:
Drive a school bus safely and efficiently; Keep clear and accurate records and reports; Motivate others toward proper driving and safety standards; Learn designated bus route, including stops and traffic hazards. Work independently without supervision. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contracted in the course of work.
Physical:
Good health; and ability to get in and out of all emergency exists on any school bus; ability to assist students in emergency situation; sit for long duration of time. Must pass District physical examination which includes drug screening.
Education :
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
Testing:
Must pass District performance testing.
