Overview:
The Mail Banking Representative I is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the department; focusing on member service standards, meeting organizational goals, and maintaining positive and professional relationships with members, peers, staff, and vendors. The department functions consists of all aspects of deposit processing; Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) processing and mail-in banking. Working closely with the Supervisor and Senior Mail Banking Representative on deposit related matters and assisting with member related inquires.
Responsibilities:
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Process and verify all incoming transactions via RDC, deposits by mail and interoffice channels.Review and process digital mail daily utilizing Iron Mountain & ClearingWorks.Issue stop payment requests and replacement instruments as needed.Process all journal entries from the FCI department for applicable account transaction(s).Administer requests to close accounts from FCI/BSA due to expulsion investigations.Process all journal entries for RDC including duplicate review, missing posts and unsuccessful voids.Process internal transactions requests including but not limited to: Touch Tone Teller, Online Banking, IRA distributions, and requests from the Collections department.Maintain daily detail related activity report while ensuring productivity standards are met.Maintain manual and electronic transaction records and files.Assist in complying with record retention policy, through working knowledge of Record Retention regulations.Respond to member inquiries or refer to appropriate service area.Participate in assigned meetings, events, and training as required.Administer the receipt and processing of account transactions received through online systems (RDC).Research and resolve any member disputes related to RDC and mail-in deposits.Preparing and sending correspondence for adjustments and Notice of Holds (NOH).Assist other units and departments with processing as requested by management.Advise Management of any potential legal issues or credit union risk exposure.Maintain sensitive and confidential information; exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with highly sensitive, complex and confidential issues and situations.Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned.Requirements:
College degree required or equivalent work experience.Minimum two years of relevant work experience with a financial institution.Working knowledge of retail banking practices, rules, and regulations.Overtime as required.Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.Technologically proficient.
