Endicott College is seeking a dynamic

Director of Sustainability

to lead and further develop our growing sustainability initiatives. While sustainability has long been a part of our values, we are now entering an exciting phase of deepening our commitment and expanding our efforts across campus. This role offers the opportunity to support and shape strategic programs, foster cross-campus collaboration, and ensure that environmental responsibility is integrated into the core of our institutional practices. The Director of Sustainability will have a lasting impact on both the campus community and beyond, driving meaningful change as we build upon our foundation of sustainability and environmental stewardship.

POSITION SUMMARY :

Lead the development and execution of a campus-wide strategic sustainability initiative, integrating sustainability throughout the campus. Ensure that the college's sustainability efforts enhances and supports the long-term interests of the college.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct sustainability efforts to ensure sustainability actions are prioritized to meet college goals. Use STARS, Campus Sustainability Plan, and Second Nature's Presidents' Climate Leadership Commitment framework to track College progress and benchmark against other colleges/universitiesLead the department in driving the college's long-term sustainability vision, mission, and operating principles, and lead the development of a high-level strategy to support themCollaborate with campus departments to support the coordinated sustainability plan. Build sustainability principles into short and long-range capital and operational improvementsServe as an internal leader and "go to" expert for sustainability, monitoring emerging trends, programs, and issues, while communicating and educating members of the campus communityEvaluate energy, water, and waste data to determine savings. Research new initiatives and track progressImplement energy projects to reduce energy use, reduce carbon emissions, and save money through: efficiency in new and existing construction, renewable energy and energy markets, tracking & projections to verify resultsAssist in energy procurement strategiesManage Waste and Recycling systems to maximize recycling and ensure complianceImplement other campus sustainability efforts to save water, improve and maintain gardens, and implement sustainable dining initiativesAdvise the activities, events, and programs of student groups dedicated to sustainability on campus (i.e. Endicott Environmental Society, Endicott Beekeeping Club).Manage sustainability staff and studentsEngage the Community on and off campus, promote the College and its efforts, and maintain a robust and informative web and social media presenceOther duties as needed to achieve the goals of the departmentQUALIFICATIONS:

3-5 years of progressively responsible budget/financial experience or related experience in a college environment preferredBachelor's degree in related field; Master in applicable field preferredExperience working in higher education sustainability effortsDemonstrated working knowledge of the latest sustainability topics, trends, and strategiesDemonstrated evidence of strategic, pragmatic, and analytical approaches to problemsProven ability to manage diverse projects, work with students, and work independentlyTeam player who is willing to work hard
