Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Serving as a frontline member of the front-of-house team, the Floor Manager works to ensure positive patron and guest experiences at performances and rental events held at New World Center by serving as an organizational ambassador and providing exceptional customer service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssist Director of Guest Services and/or House Manager in the execution of activities needed to provide a positive and safe experience for patrons and guests at New World Symphony performances and New World Center rental events. This will include, but is not limited to:
Assist in the preparation of briefings and sign-in sheets for event volunteersPrepare scanners for ticket takersProvide direction for volunteersCommunicate concert and event information to patrons and guests and answer questionsAssist Director of Guest Services and/or House Manager in resolving any patron and guest issues or complaintsAssist Director of Guest Services and/or House Manager with any ADA requests or issuesTake the lead for performances/events as assigned
Perform other job-related duties as assignedQualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Previous customer service experience at a performing arts or events venue preferredPrevious event management experience preferredPrevious supervisory experience preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent decision making and conflict resolution skillsAbility to remain calm and maintain composure during challenging situationsAbility to interact positively and sensitively with a wide variety of people in various settingsA collaborative and team-focused work styleAbility to work with minimum supervisionFluency in English is required; fluency in Spanish is desiredKnowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations preferredPassion for the mission of the New World SymphonyStrong commitment to equity, diversity and inclusionPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25lbsAbility to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
