Position Summary

The Oncology Express Symptom Management leader will supervise ESM and Infusion APPs, clinical staff such as RNs and MAs, and support staff. In addition to clinical oversight, this Advanced Practice Provider Manager will also develop strategic, business, and operational plans for the OESM program. This leader will assist in growing our OESM program to effectively triage patients with the main goals of decreasing unplanned Emergency Department visits and reducing preventable hospital admissions. We are looking for a positive, motivated, and innovative leader to collaborate with our Orlando Health Cancer Institute service line leadership, physician leadership, and operational leadership to improve access to treat cancer related symptoms in the outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions• Serve as the primary clinical and operational leader of the Oncology Express Symptom Management team• Oversee a team of approximately 10 providers and staff with plans for expansion• Participate in direct patient care as an Advanced Practice Provider on a regular basis• Establish and optimize patient care workflows throughout the department

Other Related Functions• Knowledge of risk management concepts.• Functions as a member of the Orlando Health Leadership team.• Participates in professional organizations at the local, state, and national levels

Qualifications

Education/Training• APRN candidate: MN or MSN or DNP or PhD or DNS degree in nursing required.• PA candidate: Graduate of accredited physician assistant program.

Licensure/Certification• APRN candidate: Current license in the state of Florida. After July 1, 2006, licensure applicants are required to have national advanced certification from an approved nursing specialty board.• PA candidate: Current licensure in state of Florida and maintains NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assitants).• All Candidates: American Heart Association BLS certification.ExperienceThree to five years' experience as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).

Operational Leadership experience preferred

Business degree preferred
