QU Simon & Schuster is seeking a Staff Accountant. Responsibilities include:
Preparing monthly expense accrual entries for numerous Author Joint Venture contracts.
Performing monthly account analysis including account roll forwards.
Preparing quarterly, semi-annual and annual accounting statements and payment requests for numerous Author Joint Venture contracts.
Analyzing Key revenue and expense activity and its impact on associated balance sheet accounts (risk analysis).
Assisting in preparation of Budget data and projections on assigned areas and accounts.
Assisting in the conversion of Author Joint Venture data into new automated system
Required Experience:
BS in Accounting
Minimum 1 to 3 years of accounting work experience which should include monthly closing, and account analysis.
Experience with royalty or joint venture concepts and accounting is a plus
Experience with financial reporting systems, subsidiary ledger reconciliations, account analysis and roll forwards.
Experience and advanced skills in using Excel, Access, and Cognos.
Experience and advanced skills in using enterprise accounting ledger systems including Oracle, SAP, and financial reporting systems such as TM1 & Hyperion are a strong plus.
