The Systems Engineer position creates, configures and manages system and storage solutions that host important applications for Premier Health. Should have developed through education and practical experience, a good working knowledge of all infrastructure technologies. This is an intermediate level position that will engineer, install, administer and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, clusters, storage, appliances and other datacenter infrastructure. This position will have a technical focus in specific areas such as Operating Systems (Windows or Linux), Citrix, Storage and Backups. Leads and/or participates in technology projects. Maximizes infrastructure reliability, availability and performance through monitoring, troubleshooting, updates and collaborating with infrastructure architects, vendors and consultants. Works with architects to set and manage infrastructure standards. Leads by example in standards compliance and change management. Handles technical problems with little to no supervision. Integrates technical skills with knowledge of the business to provide effective systems and storage solutions. Provides guidance and mentoring to colleagues and promotes teamwork.Essential Duties & FunctionsAssists with gathering requirements from stakeholders and leveraging those requirements to execute, build, test and implement to meet customer goals. Meets all project deadlines through collaborative work process.Researches, learns and understands the Premier Health IT policies, procedures and practices, especially related to incident handling and service level agreements.Progressive growth in capabilities, productivity, and delivery as capability and capacity develops.Capable of using current industry tools and practices to deliver reliable and high availability solutions.Monitor and manage system performance, availability, reliability, resources and capacity planning. Perform system and storage maintenance upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security remediation while complying with change management policies.Ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the infrastructure environment.Design, setup and configure complex system environments that support enterprise applications. Communicate effectively with application owners and users.Utilize virtualized technologies for effective infrastructure solutions.Understand, implement and manage Cloud based solutions.Effectively create documentation and diagrams to represent physical and logical environment.Design in redundancy and incorporate Disaster Recovery solutions into all systems and storage.Other Duties & Functions: The above duties and responsibilities may be essential job functions subject to reasonable accommodations. Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Server Administration, Red Hat Linux Server Administration, EMC SAN Administration, VMware, Active Directory, ADFS and Citrix, depending on area of focus. Utilize software technologies, including FireAMP, Solarwinds, SCCM, WSUS, SharePoint, Citrix Director, Citrix Storefront, ServiceNow, Powershell, Networker or Imprivata.Working Conditions:Normal office environment – incumbent must possess all visual skills, must be able to lift 40 lbs.Must be able to provide own transportation and ability to travel from site to site.
