We take initiative, exhibit pride in our accomplishments, and are trusted to work independently while collaborating to share ideas, support, and resources.The Sr. SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the development and sustainment of the SQL Server 2019 environment and reporting applications, writing SQL stored procedures, ensuring their operational readiness (security, health, and performance), executing data loads, and performing data modeling in support of multiple development teams. Must be capable of working independently and collaboratively.A typical day in the life of the Sr. SQL Server DBA will include but not be limited to the following:Develop SQL queries and procedures, create custom reports, and modify existing queries and reports to enhance organizational productivity.Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and Master Data Services (including data profiling) would be a huge help.Familiarity with Power BI and R would be helpful.Install and configure new SQL Servers 2019, and support a handful of 2016 instances.Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the business’s Recovery Point Objectives (RPO).Test backups to ensure we can meet the business’ Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).Work with developers to optimize database performance.Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.15 years of professional work experience in a mid-sized or large corporate Information Technology environment.Exceptional relationship management skills and the ability to build and grow connections with people.Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to keep multiple projects and client engagements active at once.Comfort with ambiguity and ability to navigate uncertainty.We are headquartered in Jeffersonville, IN. This person must be located in the Louisville Metro area and be willing to be on-site daily.Physical Demands & Work Environment:This is a full-time exempt position.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to type 35 WPM with 97% accuracy.Ability to sit for extended periods of time.This job operates in a professional office environment.
